Faye's Tribute

to little Faye Emily

You stayed for just a little while, a whisper in the breeze
The flutter of a butterfly, a murmur in the trees
Why did you leave us all so soon, when we wanted you to stay
Instead you closed your little eyes and slowly slipped away.

We cannot even try to understand why this should be
That someone needs you more than us, and is that someone he
Who welcomes little children to climb upon his knee
We have to let you go now and with you take our love,
until the day we all can play with you, in heaven above.
